There's No Coronavirus In Heaven!

There's No Coronavirus In Heaven 5/3/20

A Sermon By: Pastor Henry T. Anderson

Windsor Avenue Bible Church, Oceanside, NY

1 Peter 1:1-4

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Intro: The last few weeks I’ve been Preaching about Religion and Politics… We’re all talking the Coronavirus…

And The Coronavirus is Real, The Government is Real, and one thing that Life and History Teaches us is that Virus’s come and go, Government’s; they come and go… And it seems like our Life’ Motivation is revolving around these two things… Everyone’s life has been turned upside down because of The Virus and The Governmen…

Now the word Motivation means: the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. The general desire or willingness of someone to do something.

Synonyms include: incitement, spur, reason; enthusiasm, drive, ambition, initiative, determination, enterprise and Inspiration!

I’m not enthusiastic or inspired by the Virus or the Government…

The Police are arresting people who aren’t 6 feet apart from one another…

The Government says You have to wear a Mask when You go out…

The Government has ordered Businesses to close…

The Government has deemed who is essential and who in essential, and that doesn’t seem fair…

The Government still allows Babies to be killed, and people have died because they’ve had a Heart Attack or can’t get a Hospital Operation…

The Government says “Stay Home and don’t go to work” and People can’t Pay their Rent or Mortgages or buy Meat or Toilet Paper because they ran out of Money…

The Government said they were gonna Bail Out The Country and gave away Trillions of Dollars and it seems like only Big Companies who already have $$$$ got the $$$$ and Small Businesses have gone out of Business and have Closed their Doors and Millions have lost their Jobs…

And Life goes on…

Hebrews 9:27

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

We all live, we all die, and we’re all gonna be judged by God and our Soul spend an eternity somewhere…

And God judges and sends your Soul to one two places. Heaven or Hell!

The Bible does have a lot to say about Heaven!

Praise God, We’ve got something to be Motivated about: Heaven!

So let’s jump into the Message! Now by Introduction:

There are three "Heavens" found in the BIBLE.

(1) The first heaven is the firmament. This heaven is the closest to the Earth. The Birds fly in this Heaven.

Genesis 1:8

8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

(2) The second heaven is the space is where the sun, moon and stars are located.

Deuteronomy 4:19

19And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

(3) The third heaven is the location of God's throne. According to the Apostle Paul he was caught up to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:2

2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

The location of this Heaven is where? Answer: “in the sides of the north”.

Isaiah 14:13

13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

God created Heaven:

Genesis 1:1

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

1. Heaven is where God lives!

In The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus shows us how to pray and tells us where God lives!

Mat 6:9:

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

a. Heaven is where God’s Throne is:

Isaiah 66:1

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

b. God Reigns in Heaven:

Psalms 11:4

The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

c. God is so Big that He Fills Heaven:

Jeremiah 23:24

Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

d. Heaven is The Kingdom of God and Jesus!

Ephesians 5:5

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus is in Heaven right now sitting next to The Father!

Mark 16:19

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

And let’s not forget The Holy Spirit, He’s in Heaven to!

1 John 5:7

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Heaven is where God lives and number two:

2. Heaven is the Eternal Home for God’s people!

God lives there and God wants His people to live with Him forever!

And the minute you become a Borned Again Christian, you become one of God’s child and your final eternal home is Heaven! If you’re a Christian you’re Heaven bound!

Jesus said in Luke 10:20

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

We’re still living in this old cursed World, but our future home is Heaven!

Our names are written in Heaven and we’ve got an Eternal Reservation, we’ve got an Eternal Inheritance waiting for us in Heaven!

Our opening text: 1 Peter 1:4

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

And for the Christian, there’s two ways you’ll end up in Heaven.

1. The first way is if you die:

2 Corinthians 5:8

8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

2. The second way is…? You’re alive and you get Raptured:

Revelation 4:1 says:

1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Now when we’re in Heaven with The Lord some things are gonna happen.

1. The First thing that’ll happen is The Judgment Seat of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:10

10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The Judgment Seat of Christ is mentioned by name in Romans 14:10 and in II Corinthians 5:10. It is a special judgment for Christians only, a judgment where we will be judged for our Christian service and rewarded.

So one day all of us Believers are gonna stand before The Lord in Heaven,

And we’re gonna give an account

-The Judgment Seat of Christ is not gonna be a fun day…

- It’s gonna be like a Courtroom, and you’re the Defendant!

You’re gonna have to answer to The High Judge Jesus, and He’s going to Question you about:

The things you did in your life,

How you managed your life,

How you lived for Him,

What was your Motivation? Why did you Sin? How was your Heart…?

**And we’re gonna have to give a full account concerning your life since the day you got Saved,

It is important to emphasize that the Judgment Seat of Christ does not determine Salvation, only our works will be judged!

What works will be judged?

In general terms, the works that will be judged are:

(1) How well one obeyed the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

And the question is: Did you go or did you say no?

(2) Were you victorious over Sin? Did you won Sin or did Sin own you?

(3) How well one controlled his tongue and behavior towards others. James chapter 3.

(4) Doctrines, their doctrinal beliefs and the degree of intellectual honesty exhibited by a person will be Judged.

Romans 2:16

16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

(5) Conduct and attitudes toward other people. We’re you a Crabby Christian or we’re you a Graceful Christian, we’re you da Judge with a off with your head mentality or did you show mercy, did you forgive or we’re you vengeful?

(6) As a Christian your Behavior traits that affected others, such as slander, quarrels, idle words, foolishness, dishonesty, broken promises, false promises, wrong dealings, etc… You tell a Brother in The Lord you’re gonna help them and you forget them.

(7) Personal characteristics, including lost or neglected opportunities, wasted talents, loose living, and lack of spirituality.

(8) Spiritual traits such as disobedience, rejection, failure to cooperate and yield to the Holy Spirit, and your spiritual attitude.

The Holy Spirit lives inside of you,

Did you choke Him with Cigars and Cigarettes?

Did you drown Him in Booze?

The Music, TV and Entertainment? Do you think The Holy Ghost of God enjoyed those things?

(9) We’re you a Carnal Christian or we’re you a Christian Christian?

(10) Every word you spoke will be Judged!

Jesus said in Matthew 12:36-37

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

According to I Corinthians 3:11-15 some Christians will suffer a great loss of rewards as well.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

So after Jesus Judges us at The Judgment Seat of Christ those works which did not please The Lord will be burned and lost, but after that comes the Rewards!

Crowns will be given to us Believers at The Judgment Seat of Christ.

1. The Incorruptible Crown: 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 The incorruptible crown for the Christian is the victor's crown for those who keep under the body and bring it into subjection. It is a conquering of the old nature.

2. The Crown of Rejoicing: 1 Thessalonians 2:19 The Soul Winners Crown

3. The Crown of Life: James 1:12 Is given For those believers who endure trials, tribulations, and severe suffering, even unto death. This crown is also referred to as the martyr's crown.

Open Doors, a non-denominational group supporting persecuted Christians worldwide, reports it had documented 2,123 “martyr” killings in 2013, and you know what? Those 2123 are wearing The Crown of Life right now in Heaven! Amen!

4. The Crown of Righteousness: 2 Timothy 4:8 Is given to those who love the appearing of Christ, who anxiously wait and look forward to the day when He will return for His saints.

Titus 2:13 says:

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

5. The Crown of Glory: 1 Peter 5:1-4 This is the Pastor’s crown and will be given to the Ministers who faithfully feed the flock of God. . This probably could also include preachers, teachers, Sunday School teachers, missionaries and all those who teach the Word of God in their respective ministries.

And one Day Church we’ll be giving them Crowns back to Jesus!

Revelation 4:10-11

10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
